What Brand DNA is, and why every Advinky ad starts there

Most AI ad tools start from a blank prompt. You describe your brand in a sentence, the model guesses the rest, and the result looks like every other AI ad — because the model has no idea who you are.

Advinky starts somewhere else. Before it writes a word or renders a frame, it builds a Brand DNA: a structured profile of your brand that every later generation is conditioned on. This post explains what is in it, how it is built, and why it matters more than any individual prompt.

What is in a Brand DNA

Six things, each of which you can read and edit:

  • Tone of voice — how the brand talks. Playful or precise, first person or third, short punchy lines or full sentences. Scripts inherit this so a hook sounds like you, not like a template.
  • Visual style and colour palette — the colours, contrast and general look pulled from your site and assets. Image ads and video frames are steered towards it.
  • Product catalogue — what you actually sell, with names spelled the way you spell them. The product name is locked: a generated script cannot rename your product to a scraped marketing variant it found somewhere.
  • Target audience — who the ads are for, which shapes the persona of the AI creator, the hook, and the objections a script addresses.
  • Allowed claims — what the brand can truthfully say. This is the one that keeps a regulated brand out of trouble: the generator is told what it may not invent.
  • Brand assets — logo, app icon, screenshots and product photos, so that when a script calls for "the app on screen", the real app is used as the visual reference.

How it is extracted

You add a brand by pasting its website URL. Advinky reads the site — the copy, the product pages, the visual identity — and drafts each of the six sections. If you upload assets, those are read too: a screenshot tells it what the product looks like, an existing ad tells it how you have talked about yourself before.

The draft comes back for review. This is a deliberate step, not a formality: extraction is good at reading what is on the page and bad at knowing what you would never say. You correct the tone, remove a claim you cannot make, add the product line the website buries, and approve.

Building a Brand DNA is metered work. It runs several passes of a large language model over your site and assets, and the cost is shown before you confirm — currently about 40 credits. That is a one-off cost per brand, not a per-ad one.

Why it matters more than the prompt

Every generator in Advinky — the UGC scriptwriter, the video-ad planner, the image-ad composer, the carousel builder — receives the Brand DNA as part of its instructions. That has three effects you can see in the output.

Consistency. Ten ads generated on ten different days still sound like one brand, because they were all conditioned on the same profile. Without it, every prompt is a fresh start and the drift shows.

Correctness. The brand name and product names are locked. A script's spoken call to action says your name, spelled your way, rather than whatever variant the model half-remembered. For a UGC video, where an AI creator actually speaks the name aloud, this is the difference between an ad and a blooper.

Fewer rounds. Most revision cycles with AI tools are spent re-explaining the brand. With the profile already approved, revisions are about the idea — a different hook, a stronger proof point — not about reminding the model who you are.

What it does not do

It does not generate anything by itself, and it does not learn from your ads over time in the background. Changes to the profile are changes you make, on purpose, and they apply from that point forward. If you want an ad written differently, edit the DNA or give the generator a direction — both are visible, both are yours.

Questions people ask

Where does Advinky get the Brand DNA from?

From your website first — Advinky reads the pages, the copy, the product listings and the visual identity — and then from anything you upload, such as logos, app screenshots, product photos and existing ads. You review the result before it is used.

Can I edit my Brand DNA after it is extracted?

Yes, every part of it. Tone, palette, products, audience and allowed claims are all editable fields, and a change applies to everything generated afterwards. Existing ads are not rewritten retroactively.

Does Advinky train AI models on my Brand DNA?

No. Your Brand DNA, your uploads and your generated output are processed to provide the service, including support and safety review as described in our policies. This is stated in the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, not just in this article.
